You can live in one of 2 ways: as if everything is a miracle, or as if nothing is a miracle.
I think everything is a miracle.
You can be anything you want, but you cannot be everything you want. You must decide what is important and focus.
These videos are about leadership: deciding what change is important, and bringing together the resources to achieve that change.

Thank you, Daddy ❤️. I used to be nervous during presentations, but as a law student, I needed to overcome my fear of public speaking. Your videos on public speaking helped me do just that. God bless you, from The Gambia 🇬🇲, West Africa.
Sunday 19 05 2024 I will make consistent practice my speech each day about 1 hours Then a would lear скараговорка
Wonderful lesson. Now, in my early 40s, I am coming to terms with the reality that I failed st certain things because they were not really my passion. And those that i have always excelled in, sometimes almost effortlessly, I am still doing today. This all makes sense.
Love the video. When recording these 3 minute speeches, do you recommend writing a script for them, using someone else's speech or just ad-libbing?
Thanks 🙏
I just did this. And I feel a lot more confident already!! I also recorded a video for myself to open in 10 years.
Interdependence/competition with self > codependency/comparison. The odyssey of a son avenging his own identity from perceived prior life paternal defeat is a tale told as old as helenic times of those who dared to cross seas for trade and climb mountains for networking. I appreciate your channel's message. Thank you for what you do.
Thank you 🙏 and yes, my story has been repeated 150,000 times since the beginning of Homo sapiens as a species!

You are certainly different, my friend. It is so great to be on this IKIGAI trip together. Can't wait to be back at this wonderful Villa Almanita for the second edition of our Buffalo Leadership Retreat.
It was some of the most valuable learning and change for me in the last year 🙏🙏🙏
Hi Conor, as always, this snippet is extremely valuable. Would you be open to presenting a piece on what to do when you've fallen out of love with your business? I work in coaching and am still very new to it. I love the research, the learning, the self-development and the massive strides I've made towards becoming a better leader via your example.. But sometimes, I find that there's so much demand from students to give more and more and more and yet they go away and do nothing with the learning that it kind of feels like a big waste of everyone's time. Very sad because I genuinely want to deliver value and help people change their business and their lives for the better. but indifference and apathy is killing it
When anyone asks me for “advice” I always ask “why is this important for you?” And if they cannot express why it matters, I do not share any advice/experiences/tools
@@ConorNeill@ConorNeill That's a poignant question and a lesson in itself. The question produced an unexpected emotional response. I don't have a "snappy" answer, it deserves more than that. I appreciate the steer towards some deep self-reflection and a considered response. Thank you
Proper deep this content!. The temptation to follow the exact same path as mentors, bosses or even parents is clear, if only to make them "proud". But as you say, we are indeed different so more likely than not these paths are not the right ones.

Wow, another beautifully crafted message. Very much needed today. Thank you so much.
Thank you 🙏
We are all uniquely created with talents, gifts and skills and we must use them accordingly! An inspiring presentation
Thank you 🙏
It's a good speaking really, I appreciate it
;-)
Hi Mr Conor Neill, I love the way you give advices and explaining by examples, do you give permission to translate your videos into my language and putting on to You tube, I mean your videos but in another language, sorry for my english
Go ahead... there are lots of my videos out there in different languages... I create to share these ideas, and for my own personal journey of learning
Each one of us has a gift that is unique in our own way. The best thing we can do in life is to maximize this gift and share it to the world
although it is very important to remember that people only value what they pay for in some way... "free advice" is never taken... if someone doesn't pay with something (can be showing up on time, can be doing the homework, can be with money, can be any way that they show that they are committed)
"The art of life is to learn how to be yourself." Love this. I guess this is one of our greatest struggles, to fully accept ourselves. Just a heads on the Venn diagram. While inspiring, it is not Japanese in origin and doesn't accurately convey ikigai in the context of Japanese culture. For Japanese, ikigai doesn't require payment and you don't have to be good at your ikigai. For example, an ikigai source could be a new life affirming hobby you have just started - one that you wouldn't be good at, something you are doing for yourself that is intrinsically motivating, where you are not seeking payment, but instead are are wanting to learn and grow. Rather than being a sweet spot, ikigai is a spectrum of the small joys, people, relations, hobbies, aspects of your work, goals etc that make life feel worth living. It certainly involves purpose, but it doesn't have to be about finding a single grand purpose in life. Ikigai includes feeling a sense of purpose in one's everyday tasks and activities that makes one's life feel worth living as a whole. I hope this perspective offers some value.
Thank you for the valuable perspective on the origins of IKIGAI
@@ConorNeill Thanks for being open to it, Conor. Love your content.
Thanks Conor! Really interresting!
I wish your thoughts would never end, Thanks a zillion Sir for your videos. Keep going ❤
My pleasure
Hit the nail on the head, Connor! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent Conor! Thanks. I just realised that I knrw IKIGAI already. Jim Collins' book Good to Great has almost the same concept: What you can be the best in the world at, What you are deeply passionate about, and What drives your economic engine. Maybe Collins got the inspiration from IKIGAI 😉 to his Hedgehog Concept. I just wrote about standing on the shoulders of my father on LinkedIn the other day. Now I can write about why my sister and I are not doing the same although we stand on the shoulders of the same father AND I am a bot more aware of how to lead different people differently. Thanks ❤
The hedgehog 🦔- you are right! Great connection between worlds!
😌🙏💯
Thank you 🙏
But Connor, I may be arguing with you because besides being in life what qualities we have, we often imitate or try to follow our role models? Is that anything bad and should it be avoided???
you have to test out some things, and ways of being, in order to discover what you like, what you are good at... so there is a need for some copying and practicing early on in your career
@@ConorNeill got it. Thanks
Bravos ❤
thanks
Any given point in time ,each one of us is UNIQUE.... You are Original in your shape!. Try to imbibe that idea of uniqueness & cultivate the same!

exactly!

Thank you, this helps me a lot especially number 3.
I am beginning to think that number 3 is the core and any lasting long term systematic change you want to make, has to happen at the level of story (or "being")
It’s a good speech with great tips but Conor does need to work on his body language - constantly touching his nose or clapping hands together

One should ask: Why did I win? Why did I lose? Did I win because I was so good (training, commitment, knowledge) or I did win because the situation/competitor did not require much effort to overcome.
